THE NEW ADDRESS ON THE SHORES OF LAKE NEUCHÂTEL
WHERE ONE LIVES TO THE RHYTHM OF THE WATER.
Facing Lake Neuchâtel , there are places that need no explanation. You settle in naturally, watch the water change color throughout the day, order a drink without looking at the time, and end up staying much longer than planned.
Conceived and operated by Eleni Group – co-founded by Pierre-Julien and Grégory Chantzios and chef Juan Arbelaez – Maison Rivia is located at the heart of the revitalized Hôtel Pattus, an iconic address on the Neuchâtel lakeshore . The restaurant becomes a direct extension of the hotel: a simple, accessible, and vibrant meeting place, designed for both locals and visitors, from morning coffee to the last drink of the evening.
Here, everything starts at the lake. And everything returns to it.
Maison Rivia embodies the essence of the great Swiss lakes: bright, clear light, days spent outdoors from the first rays of sunshine, swimming when summer arrives, and then returning to the warmth when the wind settles on the water. A place that lives with the seasons, without ever resisting them.

THE RESTAURANT: A LAKESIDE TABLE, CLEAR & GENEROUS
Maison Rivia offers a cuisine designed for sharing, perfect for the lakeside , built around simple, clean ingredients and a straightforward approach to the pleasure of dining. The menu, created entirely by Eleni Group , embodies generosity and simplicity, where each dish is designed to be placed at the center and flow naturally from one course to the next.
In winter , the cuisine takes on a different intensity: warmer, more enveloping, with juices, long cooking times and above all a fondue served in the spirit of Maison Rivia - simple, generous, perfectly anchored in the winter landscape of the lake.
In summer , it becomes more direct and cooler, designed for long days outdoors, between swimming, terrace and sun on the water.

We start with fresh and open plates , ideal by the water: vitello tonnato with lightly smoked veal, a creamy burrata accompanied by roasted fruits and mountain honey, a smoked tarama enhanced with olive oil, or a ceviche of lake fish prepared with citrus fruits and fresh herbs.
The cuisine then takes root in more assertive dishes, always designed for sharing: whole lake fish grilled on the plancha or roasted in the oven—perch, pike-perch, or Arctic char, depending on the catch—served with new potatoes, light beurre blanc, or fresh herbs. Alongside these, grilled octopus with citrus, prawns in lemon butter, tuna tataki , or hearty pasta dishes like linguine with prawns or with sun-dried tomatoes and burrata complete a very intuitive interpretation of the menu.
The sharing plates play an essential role in the experience, with beef ribs served in the center, whole grilled lake fish for two or three people, or a revisited burger with Neuchâtel tomme cheese , conceived as a nod to the territory.

THE LAKE AS A RHYTHM OF LIFE
Maison Rivia is a place to experience from morning till night, without interruption. In the morning, people come for a coffee overlooking the lake, when the water is still calm. At midday, tables are set up on the terrace and lunches naturally stretch out. The afternoon belongs to lingering drinks, going back and forth between the dock and the dining room, and swimming when the weather permits.
In the evening, the place changes pace but retains the same simplicity: dinners facing the water, large shared tables, bottles opened without haste, and the impression that time slows down by the lake.

THE PATTUS SPIRIT
The Hotel Pattus occupies a special place in the memory of the Neuchâtel coast, long associated with a place for meetings, stays and life by the water.
Its revival is based on continuity rather than nostalgia. Maison Rivia becomes its living heart, a contemporary address but deeply rooted in its territory, designed to last, evolve and be part of everyday life on Lake Neuchâtel.

The Pattus Hotel, a place steeped in history, looking towards the future.
Located on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel , the Hôtel Pattus takes its name from a former coaching inn that welcomed travelers and merchants as early as the 17th century on the route connecting Yverdon to Neuchâtel. For generations, Pattus was a place of passage, encounters, and conviviality, deeply rooted in the history of the Béroche region . Destroyed by fire on June 17, 1991, the establishment remained absent from the local landscape for nearly 35 years.
Today, the Pattus name is reborn with the ambition to revive this spirit of hospitality and exchange that marked several centuries of history, in a contemporary, elegant version open to the lake.
"If Pattus once welcomed travelers from the road, Maison Rivia now welcomes travelers from the lake."
